Christmas Time is Here

Every year my church has a Christmas party sometime early in December, honoring all of the participators and leaders of the various artistic groups within the church.  As a member of the drama team, I've gone every year, and it's always SO fun.  Until just the past couple of months, our pastor's wife has been the leader of the drama team, and, being the one in charge of all the artist groups, she's also the one who throws these parties...but not by herself.  She always gets some of us (mostly dramatic-types, but not entirely) involved in the set-up, and this year was no exception.  I helped out with the decorating the day of, but also teamed up with a friend to put together this year's traditional 'Christmas Trivia' worksheet during the week prior.  We had a blast with that, learned some interesting, albeit relatively useless facts, and it turned out great!

Here's my friend working very hard to figure out our Trivia page.  We wouldn't tell her the answers.  :)

The party was lovely.  The theme this year was Comfort and Joy, and it was so cozy and pleasant.  We had an excellent group of people at our table, most of them current or former members of the drama team, and just had a fabulous time with the trivia, the food, the people.

The ladies of our table, sans me.  The one in the purple sweater was my trivia co-conspirator.

 The men of our table.

 Us!

These parties always end with our traditional White Elephant gift exchange.  This year we put a little twist on it, the goal being to try to find the ugliest ornament possible for the exchange.  As evidenced by the pictures...people's ideas of ugly vary considerably... :)

Unopened...                                                                                           Opened!

Much fun was had by all... But there wasn't much White Elephant stealing going on this year, for some strange reason... ;)
