Roughly 75 hours of rehearsal over 31 total days,
about 20 hours dedicated to performances over a total of 6 days,
12 hours fussing with hair (and that's just ME),
6 different babysitters,
16 members, 7 of whom haven't even reach highschool yet,
1 dog,
and I lost count how many crew members and other volunteers...
All equalled an AMAZING show that brought in about 500 people over the course of 2 weekends. As our producer put it, Red Ink Productions is 'in the black.' Next year's show won't have nearly so difficult a budget, thanks to the overwhelming success of our beloved 'CBTD.'
On our last day of performances, I got one of the gals helping backstage to snap some shots of everybody--the goal was mainly so that our costume designer could have a record of her work, but I also just wanted pictures! ;) Here's a few favorites:
Mrs. Gilbreth (the mom) and Mr. Brill (the teacher).
Mrs. Fitzgerald, the cook.
In order from left to right, Dan, Fred, Bill, and Jackie Gilbreth. See what I had to put up with? ;) All 4 parts are boys, but we had to change Jackie's to a girl because of who auditioned.
Ernestine Gilbreth, the second oldest daughter.
Joe Scales (the first boyfriend, who was a cheerleader), and Martha Gilbreth.
Dr. Burton, the family physician.
The 'dumb dog', who was actually really sweet, and gradually came to know what he was supposed to do, too.
Lillian and Frank Gilbreth (the littlest daughter seen onstage, and the oldest son).
Goofing off backstage. :)
The full cast, after our very last performance.
